The serial Mercedes-Benz SLR is already one of the most impressive cars on our roads – but compared to the HAMANN VOLCANO it still looks rather harmless. Once again, HAMANN-Motorsport proves its cutting edge when it comes to refining superb sports cars. From a lift-reducing body design to a powerful performance enhancement to a lavishly styled interior, HAMANN focuses on all components of this luxury car and makes the automobile dreams of its exclusive clientele come true.

The total makeover of the Laupheim-based refiner is made of extremely light full carbon and consists of front- and rear wing extensions and also new side skirt attachments and sheathings. The front view of the Volcano is optically perfected with a newly designed bonnet which enhances the overall impression by its integrated hood scoop. But also for the rear, the refining technicians implemented new ideas giving the SLR appearance its finishing touch. Under the boot lid cover, HAMANN placed a strong diffuser which improves the car´s output in combination with the large rear wing. At the front axle, a newly developed front spoiler renders the necessary contact pressure. If desired, an especially developed overall paint for the VOLCANO in either aluminium/chrome or white/matt completes the striking appearance of this bolide.

The 21-inch rims named EDITION RACE with tyres measuring 255/30ZR21 at the front and 345/25ZR21 at the back render an optimal road grip. The design of the extraordinary light forged wheel thereby combines vitality and elegance and also perfectly fills out the wheel houses.

The HAMANN makeover is not only sportive, but also has a lot to offer under the bonnet. The HAMANN motor technicians get the most out of the Mercedes Benz V8-aggregate (5.4 litres, 626 hp, 780 Nm): 700 hp / 515 kW and a maximum torque of 830 Nm at 3,300 crankshaft revolutions per minute. The therefore necessary modifications include a newly programmed control unit, especially developed high performance exhaust manifolds and an amended belt pulley combination for the serial compressors. In order to facilitate the increased motor performance, HAMANN adds a second water pump and adjusts the gearbox electronics. Invigorated in this way and with the adequate sound from the six end pipes of the sport exhaust system, the VULCANO accelerates from naught to a hundred in only 3.6 seconds. With a maximum speed of 348 km/h, the HAMANN VOLCANO is 14 km/h faster than the serial model.

The HAMANN product even beats the factory-provided performance-enhanced special series SLR 722 by impressive 11 km/h.

A skillfully refined interior is waiting for the VOLCANO-pilot and also the exterior does not rank behind. The overall makeover contains pedals and foot rests in aluminium as well as noble door sill protectors and headrests with embossed embroidered HAMANN-Logos. They can also be found on the exclusive floor mats. The overall makeover can be enhanced with a HAMANN interior set containing custom-made carbon parts for the dashboard and centre console. If desired, also the roof interior, all pillars, the cockpit including the steering wheel and the sun visors can hereby be adjusted in terms of colour. Therefore, HAMANN solely uses the high-quality material Alcantara.

I recently won myself a pair of Citrine Grandstand Ticket for tomorrow's (23rd march 2008) 2nd round of the Formula 1 GP, here in Sepang, Malaysia.

Fitted with the ever reliable tuned 2157 cc i-VTEC four-cylinder K20A engine to churn out 260 horsepower and 173 lb.-ft. of torque, which more than enough to make head or even belly.. turn..

Eligible Vehicles
A) Any 2 or 4 door coupe, sedan or sports car.
B) Must maintain original unibody or frame
C) Vehicles that do not meet the above criteria must be approved by the series.

Body Work:
A) Must be clean and presentable
B) Aftermarket body panels, front and rear fascias and wings are permitted; make and model must remain recognizable. The driver’s side door must maintain the O.E.M side impact protection.
C) All body work must be securely latched or fasten.
D) Windshield must be O.E.M or clear Lexan with a minimum thickness of
6mm and maintain the shape of the O.E.M windshield
E) Door, quarter and rear glass must be O.E.M or clear Lexan with a minimum thickness of 3mm and securely bolted in place
F) Unibody/chassis may be seam welded
G) All required Xtreme Speed Fest- Drift Challenge decals must be present in there specified location. Windshield Banner required for competition. Xtreme Speed Fest- Drift Challenge will provide the materials.

Engine/Transmission:
A) Engine and transmission modifications are free.
B) Engine and radiator catch tanks with a minimum capacity of one (1) quart each are required and securely fastened.
C) Engine, transmission and cooling system must free of leaks, fluid leaks will not be tolerated
D) All vehicles must be rear-wheel drive. Drive train may be modified, but must push power from the rear wheels.

Fuel System:
A) Is free, fuel lines and fittings must be high pressure type and routed in such a way that do not interfere with moving parts and be securely insulated and attached to the Unibody/chassis.
B) Fuel cells are recommended.

Electrical System:
A) Master electrical cut-off switch is recommended and should be mounted
outside the vehicle and clearly marked.
B) Battery must be securely mounted and the positive terminal insulated. Battery may be relocated, if in the cockpit it must in a sealed box bolted to the unibody/chassis with the battery securely fastened inside the box.
C) Headlights, tail lights and brake lights must be in working order.

Exhaust System:
A) Exhaust system is free
B) Must exit outside of the body work

Brake System:
A) Brake system must operate all 4 wheels
B) Brake calipers, lines, rotors, pedals must in good working order.
C) Dual master cylinders pedal assemblies are allowed.
D) Brake bias may be driver adjustable.

Interior:
A) All non essential items may be removed.
B) Gages are free; dash board must be O.E.M or O.E.M replacement.
C) Must be clean and professional in appearance.
D) Drivers seat, safety harness mounting.

MISC:
A)Personal safety equipment (helmet, suit, underwear, gloves, & shoes) should be checked
B)at the time the car is inspected and should also be checked again periodically through the
season.

Impak Maksima an action movie revealing the life of Malaysian youngsters who are into motor sports as their passion. It covers the sequence of drift, drag, go-kart, pocket bike and mat rempit.

The story is about a college boy (Ayie) who likes to race illegally among his friend during the night. Ayie is very skillful and now he is really into drifting. Ayie two good friend (Loyai the college mates and Amran his mechanic) will always be with him in any event of the race. Ayie leaves with his brother (Johari) after their parent pas away. Johari is the one responsible to give good education to his brother.

One thing that really worries Johari is his brother activities. He just couldn’t stop it as the brother will go rebellious against him. Johari then got the idea to channel his brother to the right path by introducing him to R3 Motor sport division who at the moment is scouting new drivers. Since that moment Ayie night activities start to slow down and coincidently also Ayie is to busy chasing after the college freshie named Eva Lyana.

One day Amran the mechanic involved in an illegal racing that cost him to lose a sum of RM5,000.00. Amran is so panic and decided to run away. Ayie came to know and try to help, but it is too late where the bad guy (Ray) located Amran earlier. Amran took off with his can and been chase by the Ray. Ayie who happen to be there took off also with his car and start to chase Amran to ask him to stop and confronted Ray.

Amran lost control of the car and meet with an accident. He died. Ayie try to help but it is already too late. The police came and Ayie was jailed for reckless driving.

Johari really upset with his brother. After knowing the real story, he decided to help his brother out. Johari then called by the police to assist them to capture Ray. He was told that Ray is one of the biggest drug dealers in KL. Johari agreed as long they will not connect his brother to the incident.

Car No 15, finishing respectable 8th overall in the recently concluded 24 Heures du Mans (24 Hours of Le Mans), the greatest sports car endurance race ever. In 24 hour time, 3 drivers assisted with a number of Team Crew will try to overcome every little obstacle and what not to make sure their machine achieved the infamous checquered flag(the earliest).

Piloted by Malaysia very own Alex Yoong ,ST.MÜCKE (DEU) and J.CHAROUZ (CZE), Team Charouz Racing System with its monsta, LOLA JUDD B07 - 17 show they are capable of doing something. Given the ample 'ammunition' , i'm pretty sure that they will serve a strong fight against the mighty AUDI R10 and the Peugeot 908.

Yeah, baby. It's the famous babelicious Super GT Round 4 Malaysia. With 16 entrant in GT500 class and 23 in GT300, phew.... we are talking about lots of lots of heavily tuned 350Z, NSX, Gallardo R-G3, Murcielago R-G1, F360 .... and more. All armed and delicious... :), dangerous should be more appropriate. Leave the delicious part to those half-naked gt queens , specially 'flew' from Japan. - Shooting will begin 7th May 2007.
- Shooting will take place on the streets of Kuala Lumpur and Bukit Tinggi.
- Nazrul Afizi(D1GP Malaysia main contender) and drivers from DCM (Zee, Terence and Yoong) will be the stunt drivers for the movie, with Ivan Lau as the camera car driver.
- The main cars for the movie will be a R34, a R33, a wide-bodied Sil1580, Terence's S13, and a RX7 FD.

I love this one. Kudos to those people who make it happen. Definitely you guys have open the "path" for "us" to further explore the possibilities of this macho-looking 4WD head-honcho-wannabe. See them at 2007 Commercial Vehicle Show.

Flying Massa Rules, 1-3 to Ferrari : My 2007 Bahrain Grand Prix

No question about Felipe Massa's brilliant effort to stay cool right from the P1 until he completes all 57lap, second to none. Erasing the hero-to-zero Sepang massacre he's experiencing a week before. Team mate Kimi Raikkonen complete the "champagne" shower trio by finishing third best. Well done Felipe, Kudos to Ferrari.But "he's" done it again. Yupp, I refer to 2nd placed young Briton Lewis Hamilton who maintain his podium celebration, third time from 3 Grand Prix. Awesome huh? This time, without his team mate, reigning world champion Fernando who finishes fifth. Behind another performer of the day, Nick with his BMW, pipping Mr Fernando in what the commentator claim as the best-ever overtaking manouvre of the day. I very much agree.

McLaren 1-2 Finish under the scorching tropical heat : My 2007 Petronas Malaysian F1 Grand Prix Xp

Maybe I had too much ear-wax-spa during the last F1 test at Sepang circuit, which took place at the end of last month that "prevent" me from experiencing yet another heat at yesterday's GP race. Moving from seat to another MYR$1000 - MYR$2000 per-Grand-stand-seat.It really makes me feel like a one-day rich guys on that particular lucky day.

I got every single greatest F1 moment thingy from near-accessing-paddock-club (without pass) incident to snapping a total of 150 over photo and video on my humble 4.1mp olympus micro.(Not so many rite?)

Of course he test sessions are without the attendance of multi nationals die-hard F1 "crowd". Only that, and just that I guess.. opps .. the grid girls, the umbrella girls, girls here and there. Yeah.. I admit. No "girls" on that test session. If not, the number of photo shouldn't be in that range. :)

Enough said, yesterday's race was awesome. Definitely a McLaren day. From the superb performance from Mr world champion, Fernando who eventually become the race winner and his stunning-Briton rookie team mate, Lewis Hamilton who took the silver for being second best. Ferrari newface, Kimi completes the podium, being third.

Pity to P1 Felipe who quickly loose his precious first place to Alonso and just can't get the cut to take over MacLaren young,too fast too furios driver, Lewis who also overtook him. Later, cost him yet another GP pints, by dropping to 5th place. Other points taker includes Nick Heidfeld of BMW and Renault's Heiki who grab his first F1 point at the last point-place.

McLaren went into the Malaysian Grand Prix in confident frame of mind, but even Fernando Alonso said it was a surprise as he and Lewis Hamilton turned on a crushing demonstration in which they left Ferrari for dead in the opening stages and swept to the team’s first one-two result since Brazil 2005. At the start Alonso sprinted alongside polesitter Felipe Massa and was able to take the lead, but in another brilliant display Hamilton dived inside Raikkonen to snatch third place before going round the outside of Massa in Turn Two to move up to second.

The Englishman then contained the Ferrari challenge, earning his spurs with a faultless drive, as his team leader went for the win. Ferrari suddenly faced an afternoon of trying to salvage something from what was beginning to look like a disaster, for Massa failed on both occasions when he tried to oust Hamilton. Each time he was repassed easily by the British driver, and on the second occasion the Brazilian slid into the gravel on the exit to Turn Four and lost a crucial place to Nick Heidfeld’s BMW Sauber.

As Alonso pulled out a 15.6s lead before stopping for fuel on lap 18, Hamilton built an advantage over Raikkonen, who stopped the same lap as Alonso. Hamilton thus led a Grand Prix for the second time in succession, until refuelling on lap 20.

The story was the same in the second stint, both McLaren and Ferrari still running Bridgestone’s soft tyres. But this time Hamilton had the gap down to less than eight seconds before the stops, as he set the race’s fastest lap. He refuelled first, on lap 38, followed by Alonso on 40 and Raikkonen on 41. Now, however, all three were on the harder tyre, and while that seemed to suit Alonso and really suited Raikkonen, Hamilton was struggling for grip. Alonso’s 21+s lead was never going to be threatened, but lap by lap the Finn was carving chunks out of the Englishman’s second place advantage. Going into the closing laps the race was really coming alive again, but Hamilton kept his head and yet again never put a wheel wrong. Alonso took the flag 17.5s ahead, to score a crucial first victory for McLaren, and Hamilton hung on ahead of Raikkonen by just 0.7s.

Heidfeld’s great day earned BMW Sauber an excellent fourth place in front of an appreciative audience of Petronas representatives, as he held off former team mate Massa all the way to the flag.

Nico Rosberg was headed for an excellent sixth for Williams when his FW29 stopped on the 43rd lap with a suspected Toyota engine failure, promoting a grateful Giancarlo Fisichella who thus salvaged three points for Renault. The final points went to Jarno Trulli after a strong run for Toyota, and Renault rookie Heikki Kovalainen. Alex Wurz was ninth for Williams after an up and down run from 19th on the grid, fending off Mark Webber who challenged him hard on soft tyres in his final stint in the Red Bull RB3. They were the final unlapped runners.

Rubens Barrichello, who started from the pit lane, headed Honda team mate Jenson Button home in 11th and 12th places, chased by Takuma Sato and Scott Speed who battled all the way through, once Sato had survived an early tangle with Speed’s Toro Rosso team mate Vitantonio Liuzzi - who described the Japanese driver’s move as ‘crazy’. It was an eventful afternoon for Liuzzi, who also ran into the rear of Speed at one point, prompting an early stop for a fresh nosecone.

Ralf Schumacher was 16th after a slow puncture stymied his progress, while 17th placed Anthony Davidson had the delayed Liuzzi thirsting after him all through the second half but held off the Toro Rosso to the flag.

Robert Kubica was the final finisher, having run in the top six until his BMW Sauber developed a suspected transmission problem and needed to make a pit stop for attention. It was a miserable afternoon all round for the Pole, who, after briefly making contact with team mate Heidfeld at the start, also suffered a puncture, braking stability problems and a failed radio.

Besides Rosberg, the other non-finishers were the Spykers and David Coulthard in the Red Bull. Adrian Sutil went off on the outside of Turn 4 on the opening lap after a suspected rear suspension failure, making contact with Button’s Honda in the process, and then Christijan Albers’s car lost its engine shortly afterwards after gearbox problems sent its temperature rocketing. The Dutchman made it back to the pits and hopped from the car, just in time for his mechanics to dowse the rear with fire extinguishers. Coulthard’s demise was bizarrely down to his brake pedal rubbing against the steering column.

Bridgestone's new tyre marking system proved a great success, with the white grooves making it easy to spot who was on what compound. Almost everyone ran soft-soft-hard through their three stints, the only exceptions being Trulli, Webber, Coulthard and Button.

A great race thus puts Fernando Alonso into the lead of the world championship, with Kimi Raikkonen second from Lewis Hamilton. Roll on Bahrain.

The design of the new 2007 Fiat 500 is based on the 2004 Fiat Trepiuno concept. This car will feature a distinctive retro-look just like the Volkswagen New Beetle and BMW MINI but may well be substantially cheaper than those cars, with a projected starting price possibly as low as £6000.

The new car is based on the Fiat Panda platform. It will initially come with three engine options: a 1.2 4-cylinder petrol, a 1.4 Starjet 4-cylinder petrol and a 1.3 Multijet 4-cylinder diesel. These engines produce 69 bhp, 99 bhp and 75 bhp, respectively.

Fiat will share the underpinnings of the new 500 with Ford for the next Ford Ka. Production is currently scheduled for mid 2007 and commercial debut in September of 2007." - wiki

Ahhhh.... I feel a little bit relief as my weekend will not be as boring as usual(no-race-day). At least another pinnacle of motorsport action have started to spin off. Yes, the F1 GP of course.
From the comfort of my couch, I watched how from P1 to the top of the podium, Kimi Raikkonen who replaced the retired seven-times world champion M.Schumi at the Prancing Horse, gives his absolute brilliant display to give Ferrari their bright start for the new season. Everything looks super easy for the Iceman to lead the Australian GP at Albert Park from start to finish as there is no so-called "tailgaters" can even close to his super-healthy F2007. Quicker from each and every remaining lap, he deserves the "Gold Medal".

World champ, Mr. Fernando also didn't miss the podium champagne celebration as he finishes second best followed by team mates, Britons rookie Lewis Hamilton who produce super-confident performance in his MP4-22(most handsomest of all rides,surely).
The other point/s taker including BMW's Heidfeld in 4th, Fisico 5th in his ING Renault R27 and Ferrari's Felipe fighting from 22nd on the grid, in 6th.
Next, Sepang Malaysia. Woohoo... my country!! Can't wait any longer. Friends, I welcome you guys/gals here with my warmest invitation :).. It's a Visit Malaysia year 2007 anyway.. Do give me a "call" when you arrive.

"Kimi Raikkonen became the first Ferrari driver since Nigel Mansell in 1989 to win on his debut with the legendary Italian team on Sunday, barely putting a wheel wrong in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. His only problems were one minor off when he lost concentration on lap 46, and the lack of a radio throughout the race.
“The weekend has been very good, but today the race was not that easy,” he reported. “Maybe it looked like it but I didn’t have the radio as it stopped working before the start, so it was quite complicated. But we had our plan so I knew what had to do even if it was not the ideal situation.”

As the Finn sped into the distance, setting a string of fastest laps, the focus of attention fell on Lewis Hamilton and his sensational debut for McLaren. Beaten off the line by Robert Kubica’s BMW Sauber, the 22 year-old Briton simply drove round the outside of the Pole - and team mate Fernando Alonso who found himself trapped behind Nick Heidfeld in the other BMW - and held a confident second place ahead of the double world champion until the final pit stops. He even led the race for a couple of laps when Raikkonen made his first pit call.

After being blocked by Takuma Sato just prior to his second refuelling stop on lap 43, Hamilton lost second to Alonso when the Spaniard rejoined from his own stop on lap 45. Thereafter he dutifully followed his team leader home to finish an excellent third on his debut. He did a terrific job.

“It’s been fantastic, to lead in the race in my first Grand Prix,” a remarkably fresh-looking Hamilton said, “but it was extremely tough having the two-time world champion right behind you! The team have done a fantastic job here and back at the factory.

“I got a pretty decent start but the BMWs were very quick off grid and Robert got past me. There was no way to stay on the inside so I thought I would dive back to the outside, and there I managed to out-brake nearly everyone. Obviously leading Fernando was then extremely intense, and for sure I made a couple of mistakes, but it’s been another new experience and I am ecstatic be here on the podium in my first race.”

Heidfeld brought BMW Sauber fourth place after a very strong showing, but it was a bittersweet result as the team lost Kubica to mechanical problems when fifth also seemed likely.

That place ultimately fell to Giancarlo Fisichella, but only just. The Italian kept his Renault a bare 0.3s ahead of the closing Felipe Massa at the end, the Brazilian recovering strongly after losing huge amounts of time bottled up behind the slow Hondas early on. Once he was clear of them he was able to make the most of a single-stop strategy after starting from the back of the grid following an overnight engine change. They were the final unlapped runners.

The final points went to Nico Rosberg and Ralf Schumacher, for Williams-Toyota and Toyota respectively. The former pulled an aggressive overtaking move on the latter on the 36th lap to settle the matter once and for all.

Jarno Trulli brought the second Toyota home ninth, inches ahead of Heikki Kovalainen who had an incident-packed debut for Renault that included a spin and a couple of off-road adventures. Inevitably he was overshadowed by Hamilton.

Rubens Barrichello was the leading Honda in only 11th place, despite brushing a wall early in the race. Team mate Jenson Button had a terrible run which included a drive-through penalty for pit-lane speeding, and could only manage 15th, separated from Barrichello by Sato, Mark Webber and Tonio Liuzzi. The Japanese driver had his usual boisterous run and several adventures, while Webber was off the road once and spun his Red Bull in the pit lane during his second stop. Liuzzi was Toro Rosso’s only finisher after Scott Speed went off the road while running ahead of him.

Anthony Davidson’s debut with Super Aguri got off to a bad start when he was all but left on the grid and then got turfed off by Spyker’s debutant Adrian Sutil. The German was given a drive-through penalty for that and compounded it by speeding in the pit lane and getting another penalty. Davidson led him home, in 16th and 17th places.

David Coulthard accepted responsibility for a dramatic collision with Alex Wurz in Turn Three on lap 49, neither having featured strongly prior to that.

Besides Speed, the other retiree was Christijan Albers, who crashed his Spyker in Turn Three early in the race.

The result leaves Raikkonen atop the driver standings, while McLaren’s double podium means they head the constructors’ championship from Ferrari."

Flying Lizard Partners with Troy Lee for 2007 Season

March 12, 2007 - Sebring, Florida - The business card says helmet painter, but don't let that fool you. For Troy Lee, what began 25 years ago as a hobby painting motocross helmets in his garage has evolved into an iconic racing design and gear business. Troy is famous in these circles: he's worked with some of the most prominent athletes in racing from F1 to NASCAR, Motocross to Enduro to Freestyle, Dirt Track to Road Racing, MTB to BMX. A racer himself, Troy has been a major proponent of motocross and an important part of its resurgence in the U.S. The Team TLD/Honda professional AMA Supermoto team won both the Supermoto and the Supermoto Lites championships in 2006.

Not surprisingly, many Lizards are attracted to or participate in the world of extreme sports. According to 24-year old Lizard mechanic Travis Lewis, "I work in road racing and in my spare time I compete on my dirt bike in amateur events. I see a lot of parallels between the two sports. The technology is cool - both motocross and sports car racing have the latest and greatest. Mainly it's the extreme part of it. Endurance racing is a set of extremes: to win, you need extreme skill and have to perform on the extreme edge, for a long time. To excel at either sport you have to be part of a great team and be a great athlete. The races are fun - it's loud, exciting, there's always something happening and you get to be part of the action in the paddock instead of sitting in a grandstand."

When Jennifer Hart, Lizard marketing director, first saw the aggressive profile of the new 2007 Porsches, she finally saw her opportunity to push the Lizards' look to match the new car. "We contacted Troy to see if there was any interest in working with us. When we met with him, it was immediately clear that both organizations' commitment to performance and love of their respective sports could make us natural collaborators."

Starting with the Porsche 911 GT3 RSRS, Troy quickly got his arms around the project, pushing the team on a new design for their transporters and even Seth's helmet. "When I look at any design project, whether it's two wheels or 18, I want to make it look like it's going 200 mph while standing still._This is my first project in the American Le Mans Series and it's been great to work with Flying Lizard. I got my start working on Porsches back in Laguna Beach in the early 80's, and I'm happy to be working on Porsches again now."

Another noble effort by Japanese Motoring powerhouse -Honda, to raise awareness of the environmental issues facing our beloved planet Earth. Launched at the Earth Gallery (no other better place than this) in London’s Natural History Museum, Honda’s 2007 challenger, the RA107, will feature no commercial logos at all, replacing them with a giant image of the Earth.

While every SRT vehicle offers balanced, overall performance, the heart and soul of the new 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 is its standout powertrain. For 2008, SRT ups the ante with a new, 8.4-liter aluminum V-10 engine that produces an astounding 600 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque.

The new 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 will arrive in Dodge showrooms in North America this summer with a new level of customization options, including five new exterior colors, four new interior color combinations and a new wheel design.

Standout Powertrain
When SRT powertrain engineers set out to get more venom from the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10's powerplant, their objectives included not only increasing performance, but also complying with stringent regulatory requirements, such as federal Tier 2, Bin 5 and California's Low Emissions Vehicle (LEV) 2 mandates.

Working with specialists from McLaren Performance Technologies and Ricardo, Inc., SRT engineers began by following the racer's basic formula for more power: bigger displacement, more efficient breathing and higher engine speed.

The new Dodge Viper SRT10's deep-skirted V-10 aluminum engine block was revised for a 1-millimeter larger bore, raising the displacement to 8.4 liters from 8.3 liters. With strengthened bulkheads and improved water jackets for better cooling, the block includes pressed-in iron cylinder liners and cross-bolted main bearing caps for strength and durability.

The Viper SRT10's 8.4-liter engine breathes through new cylinder heads equipped with Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC)-shaped combustion chambers, larger valves and Variable Valve Timing (VVT). VVT electronically adjusts when the exhaust valves are open and closed according to engine speed and load, allowing the engine to "breathe" cleaner and more efficiently.

The 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 V-10's two-piece intake manifold combines a cast aluminum lower with smooth runners for better air flow, bolted to a die-cast aluminum upper plenum. A revised air-cleaner box with a low-restriction filter sends air through a dual electronic throttle control into the intake module.

The air-fuel mixture in the cylinders is ignited by platinum-tip spark plugs fired by new individual plug coils mounted on the cylinder-head covers.

Within the cylinders, pistons are equipped with larger-diameter floating pins with bronze bushings for high-load capability. Forged powder-metal connecting rods are secured with aircraft-quality fasteners for increased fatigue strength.

Engine lubrication is managed by a larger oil pump and a swinging oil pickup adapted from Viper competition engines, to improve oil pressure in high-rpm and hard-cornering conditions.

Spent gases exit through tubular air-gap headers, which not only improve exhaust flow, but also ensure quick catalyst light-off for improved emission control. The headers' stamped stainless-steel outer shell acts as a thermal heat shield for the individual stainless-steel runners that contribute to better flow separation and exhaust tuning.

SRT engineers didn't stop there. Upgrades were developed to handle the 8.4-liter V-10's increased horsepower and torque levels, while improving traction, driveability - and durability.

The 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10's V-10 channels its power through a new, smaller-diameter, twin-disc clutch (a change from the previous larger-diameter, single-disc setup). The new clutch reduces rotating inertia by 18 percent, resulting in reduced clutch-pedal effort and improved engagement feel.

The transmission is the latest evolution of the Tremec T56 six-speed manual, known as the TR6060. It features 10 percent wider gears for higher torque capacity and a new synchronizer package. A new shifter system results in reduced shifter travel. Club racers will applaud a new provision for adding an external transmission cooler.

Benchmark Braking
Stopping power is another key attribute of the Dodge Viper SRT10 formula, with 14-inch brake rotors gripped by Brembo 44/40 dual opposing piston calipers in the front and Brembo 42/38 dual opposing calipers in the rear. An anti-lock braking system (ABS) prevents lockup during hard braking. This system results in a benchmark braking performance of 60-to-0 mph in less than 100 feet.

World-class Ride and Handling
The ride and handling of the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 is defined by a race-bred, fully independent, four-wheel suspension featuring lightweight, high-performance aluminum control arms and knuckles, damped by lightweight coil-over shock absorbers.

Where the power goes right to the road, SRT engineers retained the tried-and-true Dana M44-4 rear axle and outfitted it with a new GKN Visco-Lok speed-sensing limited-slip differential for improved traction.

The Dodge Viper SRT10 rides on polished, forged aluminum, 18 x 10-inch front and 19 x 13-inch rear wheels now available in three styles: the five-spoke, the H-spoke and the all-new Razor wheel with five U-shaped spokes. The wheels are clad in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires. The four-groove tread-design tires provide maximum grip, reduced road noise and superior handling in both wet and dry conditions.

Bold Exterior Styling
The 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 remains available in two body styles - Roadster and Coupe. Both feature a dramatic new hood with a larger, more efficient hood scoop for air induction and larger, functional hood louvers to facilitate a greater cooling effect for the more powerful 8.4-liter, 600-horsepower V-10 engine underneath.

Eight exterior colors will be introduced throughout the model year - five of which are all-new including Venom Red, Snakeskin Green, Viper Violet, Viper Orange and Bright Blue. Racing stripes continue to be an option with six dual painted stripe colors available: white, black, silver, graphite, blue and red.

Several exterior differences exist between the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 Roadster and Coupe. In fact, the only body panels they share are front fascia and fenders, hood and doors. However, all of the iconic Viper SRT10 design cues have been maintained including the signature crosshair grille, deep-cut side scallops, swept-back fenders and lowered hood lines.

The Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe's hard top with its "double bubble" styling makes it even more torsionally stiff than the Roadster. The 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe offers increased downforce and high-speed stability with its sloping roofline and deck-lid spoiler. Plus, the Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe has an additional 6.25 cubic feet of trunk space than the Viper SRT10 Roadster, for a total of 14.65 cubic feet. The roof and headliner structure offer more room to accommodate a safety cage, while maintaining as much headroom as possible.

Race-inspired Interior Design
The 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 Roadster and Coupe cockpit retains its characteristic red push-button starter and performance-oriented, highly functional instrument panel with center-mounted tachometer and 220-mph speedometer.

Five interior colors will be available in 2008: black, and four new color combinations in black/red, black/blue, black/slate or black/natural tan. A choice of bezel finishes on the center instrument panel and console adds to the increased level of customization.

With her menacing looks especially from front elevation, even my cat(haha..) was temporarily dreaming (with me) like driving one. Put aside the "cost" of running a SUV on or off the road right now, this stunning concept really hits the spot. Doncha agree with me?

Equipped with innovative roof system, which is made up of two glass panels directly above the driver and passenger. A third glass is located above the rear passengers, and all three are removable for open-air cruising. Wow.

The concept rides on a 116-inch wheelbase and comes with massive 22” wheels. Power comes courtesy of a 3.0L BLUETEC diesel engine from Mercedes that develops 215hp and 376 ft-lbs. of torque.

22inch wheels! For a SUV? Supercoool. Even drooling with my current 16inch RacingHart-CR do give me a bundle of "unwanted" prying eyes, can't imagine if I'm running on these size-22 shoes.

The side windows retract fully into the body, leaving no B-pillar above the belt, while the diagonal quarter windows are also fully retractable. The four-passenger interior is dominated by two major design elements -the cross-car instrument panel and a full-length central spine which forms the floor console. It has been almost a week since our last post. No thanks to the recent "World Wide Wait" incident that hits "us", few far-east countries. :(
Lucky for me, few days before the quake(may god save all of us), I managed to get the latest copy of my favourites street-car racing game, the Need For Speed.. this time.. CARBON. While "offline", me rides!!

No need long intro, this game rawks! Better than the previous "NFS Most Wanted" where you race-climbed the list (15 if I'm not mistaken) to be ..who-else than the most wanted. Here, in CARBON you race in team, which consist of you and your CREW(s). Kinda interesting real-world approach. In Tier 1, I drive a RX8(the best for a start) which fall into TUNER class (others is MUSCLE,EXOTIC). Managed to "get" all the BOSS's pink slip (however I sold 'em to get extra dollars). Next I tuned a Cayman S for Tier 2 and then a Nissan 350Z. Quite OK but entering the last Tier (3), you must get yourself the same of the breed, otherwise you'll get smoked (always). Thats why I follow Nikki's advice to get a Ford GT(pics, last battle with Darius who drove AUDI R8). She draft, I "draggggg". Thats the meaning of teamwork.

This beauty concept from Volvo will be unveiled at 2007 North American International Auto Show, Detroit next month. With six-cylinder, 3.2-litre bio-ethanol engine, the AWD XC60 claimed to "have" 265 number of horses inside. Quite OK for an AWD, but the more the merrier,rite?

The most interesting part is the engine (bio-ethanol),can give you 80 per cent lower carbon dioxide emissions compared with the same engine running on petrol. With the each-year-compulsary highway toll-price increase, this and that.. maybe bio-ethanol is the answer for future fuel. Does it really "save"?

This stunning made-in-Sweden machine doesn't come cheap (as usual).. only if you got about half of million US dollars to play around. (US$540,000 to give the number).
